The 'Wissenschaftliche Verein zur Förderung der Forschung in Tell el-Amarna' was registered in Cologne on 8 February 2021.
The initiative resulted from the desire of the eight founding members to join the Amarna Project to create a platform in Germany,
on which both new research results based on ongoing excavations and individual research projects and
current events can be presented. The majority of the founding members are actively involved in projects in Amarna.
As the Amarna Project works independently and is not tied to an institution, the success of research projects
and excavation campaigns depends on financial donations. Because a large proportion of the membership fees flow into future campaigns,
members actively support the work at Amarna and are kept informed of its progress through regular newsletters.
We welcome every new member and any form of support. We are also happy to answer individual questions by email:
